BMF Port Burgas is a private port operator of Port Terminal “Burgas East II” and Port Terminal “Burgas West” –both parts of national public Port Burgas, granted with concession contracts respectively dated 2012 and 2013. Both concessions have a period of 46 years and 8 months.
Located in the region of Burgas Bay on the Black Sea Coast, BMF Port Burgas is the closest to the Bosphorus deep-water port. The city of Burgas has a key location on the most important national transport and railway networks, providing fast connection to the most developed regions of the country. The city is part of a number of major international trade lines – a prerequisite for optimizing maritime transport costs.
BMF Port Burgas offers excellent nautical access (deep-water berths, all-year-round navigation, and no nautical restrictions ) and can receive Panamax-type vessels. With an area of over 106 ha (including the so-called “Dry Port” – Lozovo) and 19 berths with a total quay length of ca. 3.3 km., BMF Port Burgas is one of the largest and deepest ports in the Black Sea region!
The facilities and infrastructure on both terminals allow the handling and storage of a wide variety of cargoes. The port uses modern equipment for handling different types of cargo from leading brands such as Gottwald, Kalmar, Liebherr, Sennebogen, Volvo, Fuchs, Heli, Hyster, Caterpillar, and others.
The development of modern concepts for port activities and services is of the highest priority for the management of BMF Port Burgas in relation to the operation and modernization of the port terminals. One of our most important goals is to convert the port into one of the best port complexes in the Black Sea region and to establish BMF Port Burgas as a preferred and reliable partner for forwarding companies and customers on a regional and global level. We plan for accomplishing that through complete rehabilitation, reconstruction and modernization of the port infrastructure, facilities, and equipment, as well as through improvement of the professional qualification of the port employees.
From 2012 till 2023 over 202 million euros have been invested in the rehabilitation of the existing infrastructure and modernization of the equipment. This places BMF Port Burgas at the forefront among modern private investors in port infrastructure in the country.
